These are some explorations we have undertaken using the medium of circus in theatre, both as a story telling tool and as a way of expression through movement.

The Mariner, an exploration into the imagination of a child.

As the life she knows disintegrates, she increasingly retreats into her mind inspired by the nature surrounding her and the character from her favourite story. Research and development undertaken and performed in Space@ClarenceMews with James Lumsden-Riccetto and Sophie Page Hall.

Lady Franklin’s lament.

An ongoing research project with Rosamond Martin into a new piece of aerial equipment combined with an exploration of the external and internal life of Lady Franklin, wife of the Arctic explorer John Franklin. In 1845, John Franklin and his crew set off to search for the supposed Northwest passage and never returned. R&D time and equipment funded by Labtime at Circus Space. Performed and researched with Clare Barrett, Rosamond Martin and Sophie Page Hall using a specially designed single point trapeze.
